With the help of technology, performing a musical piece is no longer privilege of trained musicians. In First Étude, Olivia performed the piece by executing her everyday morning routine-- coffee grinding and brewing, on her new musical instrument, the coffee hand grinder.

Commissioned by The Kunsthalle for Music, a new institute co-founded by Spring Workshop and Ari Benjamin Meyers. The project imagines a space for music that is beyond the stage and within the space of contemporary art. [ kunsthalleformusic.org ]
