Born and raised in Hong Kong, her artistic portfolio spans traditional acoustic compositions for instruments and voice, experimental interactive electroacoustic works, and interdisciplinary multimedia theatre collaborations. She served as co-curator of The Missing Link, a publicly funded, two-year initiative in Hong Kong featuring a series of arts and technology exhibitions, immersive performances, and open lectures exploring the role of technology in contemporary art. In 2022–23, she was a Visiting Scholar at Queen’s University Belfast, working on a project supported by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland. She is also the founder of Castle Voices, a community choir based in Carrickfergus. Since its establishment in 2023, the choir has grown to approximately 60 members and has been actively performing in the region.

Classically trained in her early years as a composer and singer, Law steered her focus towards electroacoustic music composition whilst studying for her master’s degree. Law’s pieces and installations have been premiered and exhibited internationally at various events and festivals. Her doctoral research was on the use of gestures in electroacoustic music, in particular everyday gestures used by musicians and non-musicians alike, which Law manages to incorporate in some of her works by translating gestures into sound and images. Law was granted the Fulbright Research Scholar Award in 2014 to conduct a 10-month research project at the Louisiana Digital Media Centre. The research culminated in the Soft Instruments Project which developed prototypes of electronic music interfaces custom-made for people with developmental disability, who are at higher risk of sustaining unintentional injury in the music making process.

Law began her studies at the Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) majoring in composition and voice. After graduating from HKBU, she was sponsored to study at Ball State University in the United States majoring in voice and music composition for her master degree. Law returned to Hong Kong and obtained her PhD in 2016 under the supervision of Prof. Christopher Keyes at HKBU. She studied voice with Katusha Tsui-Fraser and Dr. Mei Zhong, and was the winner of the regional (Indiana) audition of the National Association of Teachers of Singing in the United States in 2008.
