IYASU (2012)

interactive sound installation

Japan experienced a devastating earthquake- the effects of the resulting tsunami- on March 11, 2001. The aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami included a humanitar- ian crisis and economic impact. It also raised the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant to a level 7 meltdown. The nuclear hazard obstructs the progress of rescue and reconstruction work.

IYASU is an installation that collects supportive messages from all around the world, through the world wide web, and brings those messages to the northeast part of Japan, in the form of a sun flower installation, a symbol of hope, loyalty and constancy.
